WoSFL round up from Saturday
Here we bring you a round up of results from the WoSFL which includes Renfrewshire sides Johnstone Burgh, Renfrew FC, Thorn Athletic, Glenvale and St. Peter’s.
GreenVersity Premier Division: Clydebank won the the GreenVersity Premier Division with their dominant form with a 5-0 victory over Benburb. The fight for second is on with Beith Juniors securing a 2-0 win against St Cadoc’s, while Cumnock Juniors edged out Johnstone Burgh with a narrow 1-0 victory. Pollok beat Drumchapel United in a high-scoring 6-3 match, moving them up to seventh place, while Largs Thistle lost to Gartcairn 2-1, resulting in a three-place jump for Gartcairn from 16th to 13th. Hurlford United also claimed a 2-1 win against Darvel, and Shotts Bon Accord drew 1-1 with Glenafton Athletic.
GreenVersity First Division: Thorniewood United’s 3-0 win over Blantyre Victoria propelled them up three places to fifth. Petershill’s 4-1 victory at Kilbirnie Ladeside helped them solidify their fourth-place standing. Renfrew maintained their lead at the top with a 3-3 draw against Arthurlie, while Kilwinning Rangers stayed second despite a 2-1 loss to Maybole Juniors. Cumbernauld United and Irvine Meadow XI played out a 2-2 draw, and Vale of Clyde moved up one place to 10th following their 2-0 win over Ardrossan Winton Rovers.
GreenVersity Second Division: Whitletts Victoria held onto their top spot with a 1-1 draw against Neilston. Maryhill climbed to sixth after a 3-1 win at Muirkirk Juniors, while Lanark United remained fourth with a 1-0 victory over Kilsyth Rangers.
Larkhall Thistle’s 2-0 win against Forth Wanderers kept them in fifth place. Lesmahagow Juniors moved up to 13th following a 4-2 win over Bonnyton Thistle, and Craigmark Burntonians secured a 1-0 win at Caledonian Locomotive, although they remain at the bottom of the table on 10 points.
GreenVersity Third Division: Thorn Athletic fought back to score two and beat Vale of Leven 2-1. Kilsyth Athletic moved up to second with a decent 5-1 victory against Glasgow United, while Greenock Juniors climbed to third following a 3-1 win over Ardeer Thistle.
Glasgow University rose two places to seventh after defeating Wishaw 6-2. Glenvale secured a 2-1 win against Glasgow Perthshire, and Threave Rovers stayed sixth with a 5-2 victory over Finnart.
GreenVersity Fourth Division: Knightswood maintained their lead with a 2-1 win over Rossvale Academy. Port Glasgow Juniors also secured a win, 2-0 against Carluke Rovers, keeping them in second place. Kello Rovers defeated Easterhouse 3-1, while Eglinton won 2-1 at Campbeltown Pupils. St. Peter’s moved up to eighth after a 4-1 victory over Royal Albert, and Giffnock climbed two places to 11th with a 7-0 win against BSC Glasgow. West Park United defeated Saltcoats Victoria 2-1, maintaining their position in the standings.
