Renfrew FC appoints a new president after AGM

At Renfrew FC annual general meeting (AGM) last Thursday, President Tom Johnston stepped down after five years in the role.

Tom has been a key figure at Renfrew FC since the club’s move to New Western Park in 2015, playing a major part in making the ground move happen. Although he is leaving the presidency, Tom will continue to support the club in his new role as Honorary President.

John Gilmour was elected as the new Renfrew FC President, a role he previously held during the 2016/17 season. Speaking about the change, Gilmour said, “I would like to add on behalf of everyone at the club our sincere thanks to Tom for all his hard work over the years, and his continued support. To all the coaches, players, parents and supporters, many thanks. Next season our senior team are back in the Premier League, this is a marvellous achievement and I look forward to our new venture.”

Derek Johnston has been elected as Vice President, a post that was once held by his father, George.

In addition to acting as Vice President, Derek will continue in his role as Match Secretary. The team of administrators remains familiar, with Will Johnston as Secretary and Brian Dodds as Treasurer. Other committee members include David Paterson (Facilities), Brian Shearer (Booking Secretary), and General Committee members Alan Kelly, Hedley McNish, and Robert Stewart.

Season ticket prices for the 2025/26 season have been set at £120 for full members and £60 for concession holders. Matchday admission will be £10 for adults and £5 for children.
