Rangers seek fourth manager of 2025 after they part company with head coach Russell Martin

Rangers have confirmed that Russell Martin has been sacked as head coach after just 17 games in charge.

The 39-year-old’s final match came in Sunday’s 1-1 draw away to Falkirk. Following the game, Martin was given a police escort from the stadium after angry fans tried to stop the team bus leaving.

Assistant Matt Gill and first-team coach Mike Williamson will also depart as part of the shake-up.

In a statement, the Ibrox club said: “Russell and his staff have worked exceptionally hard throughout their time at the club. We thank them for their efforts and wish them well for the future.”

An interim coach is expected to be appointed while Rangers begin the search for a permanent successor.
