St Mirren went into Saturday's game knowing they were winless in their previous 11 games against Kilmarnock and that they hadn't beaten Kilmarnock in just over 4 years.

However St Mirren didn't have to be at their best to beat a Kilmarnock side who most likely had their worst performance of the season so far.

In awful conditions St Mirren got off to a great start when in the 6th minute Boyd-Munce shot from the edge of the box to beat the Kilmarnock keeper. Just three minutes later and St Mirren were two goals to the good when Roland Idowu scored from a penalty kick.

2 -0 to St Mirren and only 9 minutes on the clock. For all their dominance it remained 2 - 0 at Halftime.

The second half started much like the first and St Mirren quickly added to the tally when Boyd-Munce scored his second in the 58th. Just seven minutes later and it was Mark O'Hara's turn to score when he shot from the edge of the box to make it 4 - 0 to St Mirren.

The Paisley side were after more goals and only 4 minutes later Declan John made it 5 - 0 when he beat the Killie keeper from close range.

In the 88th minute Kilmarnock were awarded a penalty and Bruce Anderson stepped up to score a consolation goal for the Ayrshire side.

With results elsewhere in the league going Saints way, it leaves St Mirren who with two games left before the split who are in with a fine chance of securing a top six finish for the third consecutive season.
