Fans react as St Mirren reveal 2025/26 Premiership fixtures

St Mirren FC have published their William Hill Premiership schedule for 2025/26 on the club’s official Facebook page – and supporters were quick to share their thoughts.

The Buddies face both Old Firm sides in their first three matches, prompting plenty of chatter. Mick Maguire quipped, “Can we put our Arsenal hat on and moan about two games against the Old Firm in the first three?” Thomas Sanderson saw a silver lining: “Best time to get Celtic and Rangers is before they hit top gear—great incentive for our squad in pre-season.”

Others were more cautious. Steven Munro pointed out, “Honestly, those four fixtures just before the split look tough… but it is what it is.” Dylan Murphy took a lighter view: “At least we’ve got Falkirk early—easy three points.”

Giarc Eideewt said it made sense to get big games out of the way: “I’d rather face Celtic first, then hope they’re not firing on all cylinders.” Chris Hamil agreed: “Exactly—better to play the heavyweights before they find rhythm.” Giarc added: “Beating Rangers is becoming a habit for us, but I’d still prefer that challenge at the start than midway through the season.”
