Club looks for standby venue as heavy rain threatens weekend fixture

St Roch’s Juniors have issued an important update as heavy rain continues to put this weekend’s match against Crossgates Primrose at risk.

After 24 hours of constant rainfall, a pitch inspection will take place at JMP at 9am on Saturday morning.

Because of the growing fixture backlog, the club has been asked to have an all-weather venue on standby to ensure the match can go ahead if the pitch is unplayable. St Roch’s are now actively looking for a suitable alternative venue for Saturday.

The club has warned that if the match cannot be played this weekend, the rearranged tie is likely to be moved away from JMP. Competition rules allow a fixture to be switched from the original ground if it has been postponed twice.

More information will be provided on Friday.
