Did you know? Keanie Park is named after James Young Keanie, a builder and civic leader from nearby Lochwinnoch.

Keanie donated the land on which the club was established.

Born in 1871, he played a significant role in constructing homes and buildings in the Johnstone and Paisley areas during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Keanie was also deeply involved in local politics, serving as a Johnstone town councillor and later as provost between 1923 and 1925.

Recent Redevelopment Plans: Johnstone Burgh FC have launched exciting redevelopment plans to transform Keanie Park into a modern sports complex. These plans include:

  • Installing a state-of-the-art UEFA-standard artificial pitch to better serve both the first and development teams.

  • Upgrading the surroundings with enhanced walkways and improved car parking facilities.

  • Expanding the clubhouse, with possible additions such as a new gym.

  • Developing a new 7-a-side AstroTurf pitch and upgrading seating by replacing the iconic standing “cow shed” with an all-seater stand.

  • Improving accessibility, ensuring that the venue is welcoming to all supporters.

These enhancements are aimed at both boosting the matchday experience and providing more comprehensive community sports facilities.
